COSTUME ORDER
I've tried to look through different ways of finding a reasonable price for our actress (NUN). We didn't want to spend a lot of money just for our actress as we have a list of things that still needs to be included into our trailer for example; We need to print off posters, make a wooden cross that will be placed/hanged onto the nuns bedroom door and many other things that needs to be done before filming.
I went on AMAZON to see what comes up on the search button when i searched; 'NUN COSTUMES'.

POSTERS FOR THE NUN BEDROOM
The images that are presented on this post has been thought carefully about including into the Nuns bedroom as we have be on a journey into finding the best suitable room to use for the Nun's room to film in. We had noticed that the room was bare and had a few plain boards that were empty as i thought of an idea to add holy posters/images to make the feel of the atmosphere calm and peaceful and PURE.
Our idea for these posters were to print them out A3 size to stick onto each of those empty board into the bedroom ready to film for our trailer.
Virgin Mary is what the Nuns connect/respect but as a group we wanted to use Jesus because his the son of God and his experience with evil is well known over many other religions.
TEST SHOT - NUN BEDROOM - NUNNERY

TEST SHOT - DOOR HANDLE
As a group we had a discussion on what is the first test shot we should focuss on. We looked back at out storyboards and thought of the 'shot 22' of the door handle moving up and down as someone is trying to get in. Doing test shots was one of the main key discussions to consider trying out before hand. It was important that we moved onto doing our test shots for out trailer, ready to shoot our final scenes that would end up to become the final trailer once each scene is put together. Not only it will show us how each scene will look like, it also will allow the group to look back at the test shots to see if anything can be developed further to be better quality. We may be able to change small parts of the scenes from the lack of the quality of acting or how the shot came out to be.

I'LL HAUNT YOU WHEN I'M DEAD
Finding an effective, personal reaction which i gave while watching this YouTube documentary. Watching this made me realize the differences between the real and the unreal. Linking back to my on going Horror trailer which is still in making, i can say that the real life experiences can match to this video!

2ND PRELIM TASK
As a group when chose to watch our first Prelim Task which didn't last long as we expected it to. We watched the short scene we re-created from The 'Devil' and discussed about re-making another scene from another film, as we learnt our lesson to make sure we took as many videos possible so if we ended up not having enough of the right shots, we would be able to look back at what we filmed so far and consider including some or parts of it into the scene.
We re-created the scene from the movie 'Creatures.'

NUN OUTIFT
As i was looking at the website AMAZON i thought of looking for some Nun Outfits, i also wanted to look for a Priest outfit to get both outfits a rough estimate as a group we don't want to spend a lot of money as a group we want to be flexible with money and not spend on something we can create our , to be able to rely on each other.
For the Nun Outfits the rough cost starting from was about: £9.00 - £16.99
For the Priest Outfits roughly costs from: £9.90 - £18.00
As a group we haven't come up with a final discussion if we want to go ahead to order the outfits just yet although we have to think fast if we should as we wouldn't want to lose time on filming as the outfits are the most important part to create the feel of the character.

PENTAGRAM
What is a Pentagram?
The Pentagram means different things to different people. Some argue against different meanings to what it really is. The right side up represents the Divine God ruling over the world of matter. The 5 Points represent the 5 places that Christ was wounded. Traditionally they say that Demons are afraid of it. This is another belief of the Pentagram from others point of view but there are many definitions that people believe in.
The Pentagram also represents the elements; Spirit, Water, Air, Earth and Fire. You can see this from the diagram below... This image as you can see is also known for being used by most people in Witchcraft soon as people recognize this image.

.................................................................................................................................................................
CHRISTIANITY: The Pentagram was apparently used in ancient times as 'The Christian Symbol' for the five senses. In the Medieval time the Christians believed that the "Pentalpha" symbolizes the five wounds of Christ. This was believed for the people to be protected against the Demons.
.................................................................................................................................................................
THE HUMAN STARS: The saying 'Every man and every women is a star' We can juxtapose Man on a Pentagram with head and four limbs at the points and the genitalia exactly central. This is a Man in microcosm, Symbolizing our place in the Macrocosm or universe and the Hermetic/Tantric philosophy of associativity as above, so below.
As a group while coming up with the narrative, we thought of an idea including the Pentagram into our trailer but when we looked into the meaning of the Pentagram, we had a discussion about:
- Would we allow the demon to attach itself onto us even though we are producing a trailer?
- Would it be a typical idea which most horror trailers/films include and would we want to copy it?
- Could we link candles to the Pentagram and create our own version of the Pentagram?
PLANNING of 'PROPS'
In the group i started to keep a list of possible things/objects/Props my group might need to help produce the trailer. The important part of having a list is to make sure we include everything we will need beforehand so the group doesn't end up falling behind e.g. (If we don't have the costume for the 'nun' then we can not film without the full look of the character). In the group i am aiming to keep a note pad which will allow the group to add into anytime they feel an idea occurs to them, this will also allow each group member to read through all the notes we came up with as a group. We want to make sure all the ideas are discussed and thought clearly about whats most effective to be included into our trailer.
Here are some of the Props we may need to complete the trailer:
- Blood
- Chair
- Salt
- Candles
- Wallpaper
- Scratched Walls
- Book (Holly/Dictionary)
- Demon Script
- Nun outfit/'s
- Mirror
- Cross
- Symbols
- Bed
- Cushion

THE QUOTE OF A SAYING....
As a group we wanted to add a religious affect, to achieve this we looked on the internet for phrases that would identify that the sentence read out by the main character 'JANE' would be easily spotted out that it is religious.
We found this quote which best suits into our idea of our narrative: 'Hail Mary, full of grace.
Our Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women.
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.'
Another thought was to add an phrase where the main nun character would say the translation of this something in Latin;
ENGLISH TRANSLATION: 'I proclaim Satan Lucifer as my one and only God. He chooses me.'
LATIN TRANSLATION: 'Ego praeconor Diabolus Lucifer ut meus unus quod tantum Deus. Ille eligit mihi.
HOW WE ARE GETTING ON AS A GROUP
Well so far as a group we had come up with ideas starting with the fears of society which we listed as you can find in one of my posts. We moved onto coming up with story ideas such as;
- Maze
- Nightmares
- Dolls
- Creepy Children
- People get split up
- Possessed people
- The Unknown
- Running in the woods
- Chase
- Someone after 'her' - Final Girl
- Goes missing
- Mental Health
- Perform an exorcism
- Witch craft
- Book that has been kept away in secret - Awakens the dead (EVIL)
- Point of view - Allows so much more tension towards audience as it puts them into the characters position.
THE TOP IDEAS
- The Unknown - This will give a confused feel to the mind, questions that would be asked such as; Who is the killer, Whats will happen next and why....

- Loss of a loved one - This we allow the audience feel the attachment and how to let go and say goodbye to a loved one when they are lost.
- Death - Something that dies which can set a guilt feeling towards the killer or the colour black for hell and the bright light for heaven calling for peace.
- Loneliness - Being on your own without having anyone to care and comfort you.
- Devil/Evil - When something happens that affects them to a certain level which hurts them mentally or physically. Bad situations occur and help might be needed by others for support or guidelines.
- Religion - Different beliefs with different cultures, opinions, disagreements/agreements.

MY GROUP'S NARRATIVE
When Jane is 10 years old, her family move into a new house; after a few weeks of living there she discovered a phrase scratched into the wall. She looks up the meaning and it translates "I proclaim Satan, Lucifer as my one and only God. He chooses me" This then sparks off strange occurring in her house and attacks which are diverts towards her. Her parents try to do everything in their power to save her from this by praying. After endless failed attempts they decide to send her to a nunnery at the age of 11. When she is send there, the haunting stops and Jane can live in peace...
When Jane is 16 she has settled into the nunnery and feels safe there. She has made friends and her best friend, Nancy, is someone (other than God) who she feels she can always confide in. On night she goes to check on her friend Ruth who hasn't turned up at dinner but is terrified to see bloody water running underneath the door of the bedroom. She starts to try and bash the door down but fails so runs to get help. They manage to get the door open but she is shushed away and told to go tot her room before she can see what has happened to her friend. The priest says 'She's with the lord now' and asks her to return to her room. When she returns she begins to pray but objects start to shake and fly off the table. The dictionary pages fly open until they land on the word 'Devil'.
Weird happenings continue to take place and her friends start to get killed one by one. One of her friends become possessed so she performs as exorcism on her makes a pentagram in salt on the floor to trap her in; but once she is released she is automatically dead and her body is like an empty shell. Her best friend Nancy becomes possessed and starts to haunt her. Jane tried to escape and runs into her room to find the word 'HE CHOOSES ME' written in blood. She runs away and goes to the forest but she is still being pursued by the demon. She hides there during the night and then notices something engraved into a tree and pulls off the bark to revel the same Latin phrase. She repeats them in hope tat it stops the spirit but instead she makes it enter her body. She rises into the air and then repeats the same words over and over again in a demonic voice. She stars into the camera and the credits toll.

NARRATIVES
Most narratives cover some or all aspects of TODOROV'S narrative structure!!
- EXPOSITION - background information/ introduction to characters
- DEVELOPMENT - of situations
- COMPLICATION - main event and action
- CLIMAX - confrontation
- RESOLUTION - restoration of equilibrium
As a group we haven't just yet set a idea to be our final. Its hard to pick an narrative as we thought that having a Mask theme would be boring and not challenging to produce so we went away from that idea to looking into possession and links to religion.

GROUP 1st TASK
Once we gathered into our groups, We were set our first task to pick a scene from one of the Horror Movies and re-create that scene together as a group. We came to a decision to pick the Movie 'Devil'. The reason we chose this Movie was that we really liked the scene where most of the movie is filmed inside a lift. We wanted to produce the scene which everyone is inside the lift and they become suspicious on what had 'bit' one of the young ladies back as she sheds some blood, they realize that the man's hands are covered in her blood but he doesn't understand how it was possible to have the blood all over his hands, He never touched the lady. The people in the lift become worried, they are trapped in the lift and wonders occur thoughts about what could have bit that lady in the lift.
HERE IS THE 'DEVIL' TRAILER
The first attempt to re-create the scene began with going onto YouTube to watch the scene from 'Devil'. We thought that before we went on filming as a group, we needed to write down the key positions of the people that were in the movie in the lift so we can position our actors in a similar position. As we were lucky to have a lift in the college, I went to get the key off a staff member to be able to open the lift up to use for our filming. We also check some of the phrases that each actor in the movie said in that particular scene so we can include sound and a conversation to happen. We memorized the words and got the camera with a microphone attached to capture every word said and began to film.
We picked up on the shots/angles the scene included such as; Point of view, Medium, close ups, unsteady hand held camera. We made sure we used as much of these shots and angles in our short clip. We thought of having other people to act out the scene but we wanted to be able to get to know each other in the group as we had just came together as a group. We wanted to use ourselves to act each actors part out so we could build communication with each other. Team work is a key skill to have, even in group work! It was an experience which we had to take forward as we only had one day to produce this short scene and edit. This didn't give us much time to come up with a god quality piece but we wanted to capture a short scene that would be easily known as a re-make of the scene from 'DEVIL.'
Our short scene only came up to 17-20 seconds and the included shots were 4 cuts while panning was added into this scene. We thought the shorter the scene the more effective it could bring the audience to want to know more about whats going on!
HERE IS THE SCENE WE RE-CREATED
HERE IS OUR GROUPS WORK ON THE SCENE
After this task we came together and spoke about what we thought could have been improved on.
- Film extra scene's for each actors part so if we needed to add more then we would save time from filming again.
- Do not rush into filming straight away as you might forget/miss out important parts that would look great if added into the film.
- Use more angles such as high shot to show the view of everyone standing in the lift.
The props we used:
Getting together with my Group
Now we've been gathered into groups, I've now need to allow myself to get to know each of my group members by having a sort discussion about Horror and what interests them. One person in the group which was me, My role was to take the minutes of our conversation about possible ideas which our group could take forward as a final idea for our trailers.
We asked each other what scares you:
We asked each other what scares you:
- Spiders
- Death
- Hell
- Spirits
- Demons
- True Stories
- Supernatural
Overall as we look back at the sort list we came up with, we noticed that most of the words link together to Spiritual/Possession. We then moved onto talking about would we feel happy if we based our trailer on Possession. We haven't came up with a certain answer but we still want to keep an open mind and keep some kind of diary which all our notes/ideas can be kept inside. Each time we gather together we add notes and look back at the ideas we had came up with to then set our self a final idea. Allowing our group to bond together we went round the group to open up and talk about ideas for a sort video prelim task we was set. We were asked to pick a clip from a horror movie to try filming and creating our own version of!
We know as a group that the key skills we will need are;
- Communication skills - To allow each member of the group to feel comfortable to have their own saying into the trailer as part of a group you must not be selfish and only have one person's way. You must take note of everyone and act together not leaving one member out. Also emailing and keeping in contact with everyone to allow everyone to be updated on what needs to be done, how things have gone, what needs to be done.
- Time Management - Keeping track on what each members role is and making sure they are doing the job and getting is done by a certain date set so they are not behind and making the group wait for that member. Remembering to cover someones role if they are sick or unable to do a particular role. Helping each other is a key skill as it shows you ability to multi-task.
- Organised - Being able to be flexible in their role they have to carry out through the producing of the trailer.
