Once we gathered into our groups, We were set our first task to pick a scene from one of the Horror Movies and re-create that scene together as a group. We came to a decision to pick the Movie 'Devil'. The reason we chose this Movie was that we really liked the scene where most of the movie is filmed inside a lift. We wanted to produce the scene which everyone is inside the lift and they become suspicious on what had 'bit' one of the young ladies back as she sheds some blood, they realize that the man's hands are covered in her blood but he doesn't understand how it was possible to have the blood all over his hands, He never touched the lady. The people in the lift become worried, they are trapped in the lift and wonders occur thoughts about what could have bit that lady in the lift.
HERE IS THE 'DEVIL' TRAILER
The first attempt to re-create the scene began with going onto YouTube to watch the scene from 'Devil'. We thought that before we went on filming as a group, we needed to write down the key positions of the people that were in the movie in the lift so we can position our actors in a similar position. As we were lucky to have a lift in the college, I went to get the key off a staff member to be able to open the lift up to use for our filming. We also check some of the phrases that each actor in the movie said in that particular scene so we can include sound and a conversation to happen. We memorized the words and got the camera with a microphone attached to capture every word said and began to film.
We picked up on the shots/angles the scene included such as; Point of view, Medium, close ups, unsteady hand held camera. We made sure we used as much of these shots and angles in our short clip. We thought of having other people to act out the scene but we wanted to be able to get to know each other in the group as we had just came together as a group. We wanted to use ourselves to act each actors part out so we could build communication with each other. Team work is a key skill to have, even in group work! It was an experience which we had to take forward as we only had one day to produce this short scene and edit. This didn't give us much time to come up with a god quality piece but we wanted to capture a short scene that would be easily known as a re-make of the scene from 'DEVIL.'
Our short scene only came up to 17-20 seconds and the included shots were 4 cuts while panning was added into this scene. We thought the shorter the scene the more effective it could bring the audience to want to know more about whats going on!

HERE IS OUR GROUPS WORK ON THE SCENE
After this task we came together and spoke about what we thought could have been improved on.
- Film extra scene's for each actors part so if we needed to add more then we would save time from filming again.
- Do not rush into filming straight away as you might forget/miss out important parts that would look great if added into the film.
- Use more angles such as high shot to show the view of everyone standing in the lift.
