Getting together with my Group

Now we've been gathered into groups, I've now need to allow myself to get to know each of my group members by having a sort discussion about Horror and what interests them. One person in the group which was me, My role was to take the minutes of our conversation about possible ideas which our group could take forward as a final idea for our trailers.

We asked each other what scares you:

  • Spiders
  • Death
  • Hell
  • Spirits
  • Demons
  • True Stories
  • Supernatural
Overall as we look back at the sort list we came up with, we noticed that most of the words link together to Spiritual/Possession. We then moved onto talking about would we feel happy if we based our trailer on Possession. We haven't came up with a certain answer but we still want to keep an open mind and keep some kind of diary which all our notes/ideas can be kept inside. Each time we gather together we add notes and look back at the ideas we had came up with to then set our self a final idea. Allowing our group to bond together we went round the group to open up and talk about ideas for a sort video prelim task we was set. We were asked to pick a clip from a horror movie to try filming and creating our own version of!

We know as a group that the key skills we will need are;
  • Communication skills - To allow each member of the group to feel comfortable to have their own saying into the trailer as part of a group you must not be selfish and only have one person's way. You must take note of everyone and act together not leaving one member out. Also emailing and keeping in contact with everyone to allow everyone to be updated on what needs to be done, how things have gone, what needs to be done.
  • Time Management - Keeping track on what each members role is and making sure they are doing the job and getting is done by a certain date set so they are not behind and making the group wait for that member. Remembering to cover someones role if they are sick or unable to do a particular role. Helping each other is a key skill as it shows you ability to multi-task.
  • Organised - Being able to be flexible in their role they have to carry out through the producing of the trailer.
