Halloween is a holiday that is celebrated on the night of October 31! The word Halloween is a short version of All Hallows' Evening also known as Hallowe'en or All Hallows' Eve.The 'Traditional activities' include trick-or-treating, bonfires, costume parties, visiting "haunted houses" and carving jack-o-lanterns. Irish and Scottish immigrants carried versions of the tradition to North America in the nineteenth century. Other western countries embraced the holiday in the late twentieth century including Ireland, the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the United Kingdom as well as of Australia and New Zealand.
The festival would regularly involve bonfires as it is believed that the fires that attract the insects to the area which then attracts the bats to the area. Thats what is believed but everyone has their own views and beliefs such as is it and old tale that has been carried on and on. There are additional attributes of the history of HALLOWEEN.
'What makes Halloween scary is the masks and costumes worn in an attempt to mimic evil spirits.' Trick-or-treating is an activity for the children that go around knocking on neighbours doors collecting sweets and chocolates.
